Christian Louboutin sues YSL for the red-sole shoes

According to the Reuters reported, Mr. Louboutin is the first person that produces the red-sole high heels, the red shoes of YSL may cause confused and misunderstanding between YSL and Christian Louboutin to customers. Christian Louboutin registered the red-sole shoes as their patent in America, 2008. So the brand asks for YSL, which is a luxury brand, to make compensation of $1 million and stop producing all the red-sole shoes at the same time. But YSL has not made any response as far.

Mr. Louboutin said that he with great respect for YSL. But the lawsuit is not aimed at YSL competely. -If we don’t take it to resort to judgment, the other brands would think that there is an opportunity to take advantage of copying our red shoes.- Moreover, Mr. Louboutin emphasized that his brand is the first brand that is based on color logo, therefor the importance of red-sole to Christian Louboutin likes the logo of other brands. it is not wholly unreasonable as the explanation likes that.
