Essentials of Summer Sun Protection

Basking in the sun feels great, and it helps your body produce vitamin D, which plays a role in preventing depression, osteoporosis, breast cancer, and prostate cancer. However, exposing yourself to strong ultraviolet (UV) rays without proper protection can be extremely harmful to your skin and body. In recent years, research has shown that exposure to ultraviolet rays such as UVA and UVB can lead to skin cancer and eye damage. Fortunately, that doesn’t mean that you need to give up fun in the sun altogether. You just have to protect yourself from these harmful rays at all times.

Put on sunscreen every time you go out, especially when you are at the beach, in which case you might have to reapply it every couple of hours or after swimming. Sunscreen, or sunblock, protects your skin by absorbing or reflecting ultraviolet radiation that can lead to sunburn. According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, 90% of non-melanoma skin cancers and 65% of melanoma cases are linked with exposure to harmful UV radiation from the sun. A recent study found that using sunscreen regularly can cut the risk for developing melanoma in half. Taking the time to put on sunscreen can save your life, so be sure to apply it regularly, even if you do not think you’ll be spending a lot of time outside.

Wearing sunscreen is not the only way you can protect yourself from ultraviolet radiation. You can also wear hats and protective clothing that can shield you from sun damage. The best type of hat to wear when spending time in the sun is a wide-brimmed hat that will protect your skin and eyesight. You can also buy clothes specifically designed to block dangerous UV light. Protective clothing is measured by the ultraviolet protection factor (UPF) that reflects how much UV radiation the fabric absorbs.

In addition to taking care of your skin, don’t forget to protect your eyesight. Wide-brimmed hats are not enough to prevent eye damage that can be caused by strong UV rays. Look for sophisticated sun protection specifically developed to protect your eyesight such as polarized sunglasses. Polarized sunglasses not only protect your eyes from UV radiation, but also reduce glare that can strain them. Most people don’t realize that their eyesight deserves the same attention when it comes to sun protection as their skin. Over time, exposure to sunlight can damage your eyesight and surrounding skin, lead to loss of vision, and contribute to conditions ranging from cataracts to eyelid cancers. Protecting your eyes from the sun is essential to maintaining a healthy vision throughout your life.

Spending time in the warm sunlight feel fantastic, but it can also be extremely dangerous if you don’t properly protect yourself from harmful UV radiation. To reduce risks associated with sunlight exposure, protect your skin with sunscreen and special protective clothing. Don’t forget to take care of your eyes as well by wearing polarized sunglasses that will shield your eyesight from damaging rays. Enjoy the sun, but don’t forget to actively protect your skin and eyes from UV light damage.

Brand Profiles Adidas

Adidas is one of the biggest manufacturers of sporting goods in the world today, with global sales in the billions of dollars and a brand that is almost universally recognized. But it wasn’t always that way.

Adolf Dassler started to make sports shoes in his mother’s laundry room in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria, after returning from World War I. He was joined in 1924 by his brother Rudolf Dassler. Together they ran what became known as the Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory, with some success, but also not without difficulty. In those early days, the electricity supplies was very hit and miss, sometimes leaving the brothers no choice but to pedal a stationary bicycle to run their equipment.

The turning point for this fledgling company came in 1936, at the Summer Olympics. Adolf drove from Bavaria to Berlin on one of the world’s first Freeways. At the Olympic village, and lugging a suitcase full of spikes, he persuaded the United States’ sprinter Jesse Owens to use them. This was first time anyone had sponsored an African-American. Owens, of course, swept the board and won four gold medals. This success made him world famous and brought Dassler shoes to the attention of sportsmen. Interested in their shoes snowballed and orders flooded in. Before World War II, they were selling 200,000 pairs of shoes each year.

Tensions between the brothers smoldered for years until eventually erupting into a major falling out. They went there separate ways in 1947. Rudolph formed a company called Ruda (from Rudolph Dassler) which later became the brand Puma and is still around today. Adolph took his nickname of “Adi,” paired it with Dassler and got Adidas.

The company today is a massive global concern that rivals the number one brand Nike in the sports shoe market. The 3 stripes logo has become famous and forays into new markets have become common. Soccer, Tennis, Rugby, Track and Field can all boast significant sponsorships.

Like many other sporting goods manufacturers, Adidas has now produced a range of designer sunglasses. It might seem like a left turn in some ways, but keep in mind this is not so much high fashion as high performance. Adidas eyewear is unisex with tinted polarized lenses and sleek profiles. Many styles look as if they’ve been sculpted by a wind tunnel rather than a person, and the chances are that some probably have.

The Alibria A835 in ‘shiny khaki gray’ are a nod to aviators but look as if the aviator lenses have been fused to something much more futuristic. Lightweight and versatile, they are affordable and go anywhere, looking good on the beach or sweating under winter sun on the slopes.

The real standouts in terms of Star Trek ‘look at us-ness’ are the silver and orange SUPERNOVA A150. A one piece panel visor with a smoky brown tint is gripped by futuristic curved silver arms with a stripey orange inlay. They’re sure to attract attention and would look fabulous whether you skate, bike or jump out of planes. Even Jesse Owens would have liked them.

Fastrack Sunglasses- An Essential for Your Summer Holiday!

I remember that time when we planned our trip to Goa. It was supposed to be our holiday after a very long time. So we were all tres excited and wanted it to be a perfect summer holiday. I thought we packed all essentials including extra towels, lotions, swimsuits, water goggles etc. Little did I know that I missed out on something important.

On the first day in Goa, we decided to play volleyball. It was thirty-eight degree celsius outside so we picked up our sunscreen lotions and applied them all over ourselves. Then, we played volleyball for some time. After a while, I started feeling a tingling sensation somewhere on my face. I realised with horror that the skin under my eyes was burning. Of course, it was sensitive. I should have known.

I made up an excuse and retired to the cottage only to find the area under the eyes red and swollen. I panicked. I knew I wouldn’t be able to go speedboating with the rest of the lot with these hideous eyes. To be honest, I was embarrassed. Then, I got busy trying to repair the damage under my eyes. I perused over what had to be done. Then an idea struck me! All I had to get was a pair of sunglasses. I grabbed my phone and browsed through different models of sunglasses online. I was confused about what to get. Then, I happened to come across the Fastrack sunglasses page online. My friend had once told me that Fastrack sunglasses are the best in quality and I saw that these were listed in the best sunglasses’ brands of India.

I was overjoyed to see that Fastrack had brilliant collections and way too many colours. The style range of Fastrack sunglasses had aviators, cat eye, oval, over sized, rectangular, sports, wrap around and wayfarer styles. I have always been a fan of over-sized sunglasses and they suited the situation perfectly. So I decided to get a pair of these. I knew we were going to the theme park so I got sports sunglasses for water rides. I also got a pair of aviators because they were irresistible. So, I added these three pairs of Fastrack sunglasses to my shopping cart and clicked on the -Buy Now’ button. To my surprise, they reached me in a day.

The day after that, I was the star. I teamed my three pairs of sunglasses with the outfits that I’d got and I was happy with the results. Everyone complimented me on how great I looked. I accompanied my friends to the beach, to a theme park and everywhere else. I could sit by the beach and not worry because I knew for a fact that the Fastrack sunglasses online shopping made me look like a diva.
